Victoria Westhorp

Victoria Westhorp joined the Office for Civil Society (OCS), within the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, in April 2011. She has been responsible for OCS’ work to protect people from harm in collaboration with the charity sector since April 2018. Among other roles she has worked in the Cabinet Office, Government Office for the South East and Countryside Agency. Victoria is studying for a Masters in Leadership and Management.

  • Assessing the key regulatory lessons learnt across the voluntary sector in tackling safeguarding risks
  • Evaluating how the sector has developed its safeguarding policies, incident handling and reporting procedures one year one from the first safeguarding revelations
  • Exploring what constitutes effective reporting mechanisms and how voluntary organisations can ensure successful collaboration with the regulator
  • Analysing the future of safeguarding protection and the next steps in enhancing public confidence in charities
